Castaway Cay Day
I was up and on deck for the sunrise with was nice, then down to breakfast.
We just chilled in the room till 0830 when we could get off the boat. Castaway Cay is Disney’s Private Island. Originally it was called Gorda Cay and is on lease to Disney. It is a fun place and today the water was nice.
We started on the family beach area where we went out to the Pelican Plunge water slides. Then we floated and relaxed in the water for a bit. We then made our way to the adult beach called Serenity Bay. Given the lack of kids on this cruise, the family beach area was rather desolate and the adult beach was packed. We opted to return to Cookies 2, a BBQ area for lunch. I had a chicken sandwich and Lynn had bbq chicken and mahi.
We shared our table with some folks we had cruised with on a few other sailings.
After lunch we walked back to the ship to shower and clean up. Thus far we have reached our step goals.
We decided to expand our artistic horizons and attend a ceramic tile coaster making event. It was fun. Then we went to deck 4 for sail away. It is a nice send off from the cast members stationed on the island.
Again we had a small snack to tide us over till dinner.
Our dinner mates had been at Palo last night and joined us this evening for a most enjoyable meal. I had the butternut squash soup and a very nice tenderloin. Every one at the table had the tenderloin. Dessert for me was an unconstructed carrot cake and Lynn had a chocolate cheese cake.
It is nice being at a small table with four people as the service is faster. When traveling with our large group of cruise friends, we usually are seated at a large table and while service is good, the size of the group naturally slows down service.
We were out and walked the deck before retiring.
For some reason, I sleep very well on the ship.
There was a Mocking Bird Sitting there, Really There Was!!!
