Embarkation Day 29/05/2025:

 Embarkation Day 29/05/2025:

After breakfast we got our bags ready to go and and waited until our scheduled time for a shuttle bus to the port.

First stop was a security check point, then passport control and then onto the ship.

The first stop was reception where we picked up our room cards and other information.

Then it was off to get our expedition jackets. Sadly the new blue jackets in larger sizes were not available. So I got a old style red one and Lynn got one of the new blue ones. Yes, I am a tad bummed, it is what it is. Will get one next trip, I hope.

Next up was the mandatory safety drill. Here we get a demo on the cold water exposure suits.

Then we explored the ship a bit. I must say everything looks very very fresh.

One of the expedition team recognized us from one of the British Isles sailing we had done.

Stuff being new we had issues setting up our room safe and the TV had no volume. It is handy as the lectures and various programs are broadcast into the state rooms.

The deck plans are such that stairways and access points might not be as they seem.

I will say the ship has a lot of open deck space which is well suited for observation.

After lunch we did a bit more exploring and unpacking to settle into our stateroom.
