DENVER TO DOVER A MIGHT LONG AIRPLANE RIDE WITH TRAINS INCLUDED

 Denver to Dover:

We had a lazy morning at the Denver hotel. It was a 101F when we arrived yesterday so we just hid in the AC of our room.

We were up before breakfast and grabbed a cup of coffee. Back at the room we prepared bags for the days travel.

Got out for a walk and then had some breakfast. I know we will be really early for our flight but that is ok.

Spent time in the United Club on Concourse A and our flight was showing a Concourse B gate. We made our way over to the gate and had an uneventful flight to LHR (London Heathrow Airport).

At LHR and using the E Gate entry, of course we pick the line where the machine does not work. We got it sorted and off to baggage claim. Our bags were the last off the plane, at times I think the Priority Tag slows bags down, LOL.

Got on the Underground and took the Piccadilly line to St Pancras station. Had our typical lunch at Pret, as we do like the tuna and cucumber sandwich.

We boarded our train and we were off to Dover on this sunny day. At Dover, the weather was nice and seemed perfect cool weather, and as we were feeling our second wind, we decided to walk to our hotel,  a 20 min walk that got warmer.

We are staying at the Best Western Premier Dover Marina Hotel.

We do have a harbor view and the room is a standard European room, nicely appointed and on the small size. Yet it is adequate for us. We can see France from our room.

The room came with a pigeon warning. LOL

We changed clothes and I did some laundry as my shirt was sweat soaked.

Poundland is a must stop for us when in the UK and especially Dover. We stocked up on crisps, chocolate, and I found socks and my favorite bar soap. I also got a new Peppa Pig grocery tote.  Oft times for a souvenir I will get grocery totes.

Then off to Blakes of Dover for some refreshment. Always a joy to visits Blakes. We will be there tomorrow night for dinner as their food is GREAT!

We decided to get a bit more walking in and explore the waterfront. We were looking for a walking short cut to get to the cruise terminal on Thursday. Whilst walking about we ran into a Malamute named OZ and had a nice chat with his owners about Malamutes and the history of Dover.

I think Dover is often over looked by too many as it is a pass through town. I feel it is worth the stop for many reasons, the history and people make it so worthwhile in my book.

Back at our hotel, sleep is calling as we are a bit tired from the 2 travel days.
