Morning Report : Current Position is 70° 16’ 6.2” N , 24° 28’ 18.5” W, Speed 7.993kn, COG 301.4°, Wind 347° at 6.1 m/s.
Looks like we will be out on the Science Boat this morning before the landing. Yes we were, our science boat left before the landings started. On this trip we collected all sorts of data to be reported as part of the citizen science program. We recorded the clarity of the water, temp, salinity depth etc. We then drug a plankton net to collect samples.
We then landed at Terrassevig near the base of the glacier on the lateral moraine. There was a very nice waterfall, and the terrain was very rocky and unstable, this made walking difficult.

1500 - Lecture - Road to Totality : What to expect at each stage of the eclipse and what to watch for during the event.
1545 Eclipse Glasses and Filter were handed out.
1600 - Rainbow Explorer Hour a meeting time for the LGBTQ folks.
1615 Discovery Session - Ocean Drifters, learning about phytoplankton and looking at the samples we collected during our science boat trip. These are the basis of the food chain.
