Off to Table Mountail Day 1
After our breakfast we met the Adventures by Disney Group for an introduction meeting. After which we loaded the busses and as the skies were clear, we headed to the Table Mountain Cable Car.
It is a fun cable car ride as the car spins as it travels to the top of Table Mountain. The mountain was out when we started but after arriving at the summit the clouds rolled in. The weather dashed my hopes of getting some photos of Rock Hyrax. Just the way it is. We did see Red Wing Starlings and Black Harrier.
From Table Mountain, we drove to District 6 and met with a gentleman, Mr. Noors, who lived and was displaced from District 6. His stories were heartwarming and he was a pleasure to listen to.
What made District 6 important was it was WONDERLAND. Here all races lived together and respected each other. As such it was not well received by the white separatists, as this living in harmony in a mixed community was not acceptable.
Lunch time and we were off to a restaurant called Bo Kaap. Here we had an amazing lunch of Malay food. The smell of the spices was amazing and the food was more than excellent.
Yes, on Adventures by Disney one seems to never wants for good food.
To help digest the great lunch we went to the Company Gardens, a nice park botanical garden. It was interesting to see a very camera shy albino squirrel.
A shopping stop was offered and we decided to go on back to the hotel. Showers and laundry were in order.
