Here we sit in the United Club in Denver awaiting a flight to London. It is really nice these flights are nonstop which we find really convenient. The price was right for this flight and as such we are not able to upgrade to Business Class. We did get bulkhead seats so should have some more room and it is a 787 Dreamliner.
This trip will start with a few days in London, to include a couple London Walks, a day at Bletchley Park, and a Day at Kew Gardens.
We highly recommend London Walks as they are lead by great interpreters with brilliant story telling skills and great knowledge. They are very reasonable at £10 or with Concession discount £8. They go rain or shine and are well worth ones time. They can be found at http://www.walks.com/ where you can explore the great variety of walks they offer. This is unsolicited/uncompensated etc etc, and we have been going on London Walks for many years.
On Saturday 14, September we travel back to Dover for a stay at Blakes of Dover for the night. Blakes is a warm friendly pub which offers a couple rooms for rent. This is unsolicited/uncompensated etc etc, and we stayed at Blakes of Dover about 6 weeks ago. Here is a link to our first stay at Blakes https://soggymoosetravel.blogspot.com/2019/07/denver-to-dover-we-got-up-early-and.html
On Sunday, September 15th, we board the Disney Magic to sail to New York City. We will stop in the ports of Portland, Cork, Sydney, and Halifax.
Hope to explore a bit more as we revisit some places and visit some places for the first time. Always something to see and learn from.
Some folks have asked us what luggage we use. For this trip I will be using the eBags TLS Mother Lode Weekender Convertible and Lynn will use the eBags TLS Mother Lode Rolling Weekender, as our carryon bags. We have had these bags for several years and they are holding up really well. Both these bags can be worn as backpacks and they carry well. The one I will use has a computer sleeve, and Lynn’s has roller wheels and no computer sleeve. Lynn and I each have both bags and decide which one to use depending on the trip and travel style. I like a back pack style if I have a checked bag and will use the roller for a one bag trip. Basically they are the same bag, one with and one without wheels. We have used these bags for short domestic trips and overseas trips. Simply put we like them for the compartments as they organize well. One negative is they have a water bottle holder that really is useless. This is unsolicited/uncompensated etc etc.
For our checked bags on this trip we each will be using the eBags TLS Mother Lode Junior 25" Wheeled Duffel bag. We purchased these bags during a Super Day eBags sale, could not pass them up kinda deal. This is their inaugural trip for us. Thus far they seem like we will like them. They could use a tie down system for one half of the bag. This is unsolicited/uncompensated etc etc,
With eBags the price can be right if you are patient and wait for a sale.
One of our primary considerations when choosing a bag for travel where we will be using public transportation is the width of the bag for ease of transiting a turnstile. These fit that bill, our other bag we use for this type of travel is a Haglof Bag we got years ago. I am almost certain they are no longer available.
A heart felt thanks to one and all who follow along with us and share our blog with your friends and family. We so much appreciate you one and all.
