SOGGY MOOSE IS OFF TO CHICAGO
Some of you may know I grew up in the Chicago area and pretty much moved away after high school for college and life. Chicago has many great memories for me, mostly the museums and the food. This trip will include both for sure.
A while back we learned of National Geographic’s Symphony For Our World. This event combines National Geographic natural history footage with a full orchestra and choir. I am sure it will be very moving, and I am sure we will be flooded with memories of places we have been.
The venue will be The Auditorium Theatre, more on it later, which has deep ties to Chicago and is simply BEAUTIFUL.
Anyway, Chicago was a location where we could combine this event, food and museums. We will be staying at the Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park, using our Disney Vacation Club Points for the stay. Pretty fancy digs for the Soggy Moose.
We will be visiting the Field Museum, Science and Industry, The Art Institute, and probably a few more.
Food, yes amazing Chicago staples, Italian Beef, Vienna Hot Dogs, and DEEP DISH PIZZA. These are the food items anyone from Chicago craves when they move away. Granted not heart healthy at all, but we will be walking almost everywhere we go. We also will probably go to a Tiki Bar and the Billy Goat. Lynn is a big fan a Garrets Popcorn.
We have no real set plans other than the symphony on 3/31. So enjoy with us our time in the Windy City, My Kind Of Town Chicago Is.
What else will make this trip different is I will not bring a big camera, just using the cell phone, should make it interesting.
Thanks for reading and sharing.
