Several folks have asked about where we are headed to next, so here is a heads up.
This trip will take us to Beijing for a few chilly days where we will visit some of our favorite places. These will most likely include the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Bahai Park, and the sunrise flag raising ceremony at Tiananmen Square. I have also have discovered there is a European robin which has been observed at the Beijing Zoo.
From Beijing we fly to Ho Chi Min City (Saigon) to start the South East Asia portion of this trip. This trip will with Adventures By Disney (ABD) with some added days on our own. We looked at our options of National Geographic and Viking and chose ABD because it includes Laos and we can use our Disney Vacation Club points. By flying via Beijing we are saving about $2,500 each on airfare.
This portion of the trip will start in Saigon and then we will travel north to Hanoi, Then to Laos and finally Cambodia for a visit of Angkor Wat area. Additional days on the start and end of this trip will give us some addition time to experience these locations.
This area was not on our travel radar for a good bit of time, but as we talked with other travelers the area became more and more intriguing. We are looking forward to trying new food, visiting local markets, street food, meeting the people and learning about their daily life.
Follow along as we make this journey, enjoy and share the blog with others. Our hope is we inspire folks to explore near and far.
I have also added some features to the blog site. On the right sidebar you can now subscribe to the blog by adding an email. I have also added a search function, now you can search for a location or topic to aid in your own trip planning or whatever might have sparked your curiosity. Further, I added a link to Soggy Moose Photo for your viewing pleasure.
Thanks Much One and All,
Scott and Lynn
