Back to Lhasa:
Basically a long and dusty rural road over a 17,000 foot pass. It is interesting, the speed limit on the road is 40 km/hr for tourist vehicles (other vehicles had a slower speed limit), but the way your speed is checked is the times you check in to the check points. So, if you have traveled faster than that, you will pull off to the side of the road before the next check point until the proper time has elapsed. We had to do that several times, we used the time to check out the magnificent scenery, get some snacks, and use facilities if they were available.
We did see Golden Eagles, marmots, pika, ducks, and lots of Yaks. The Yaks seemed to look healthier as we traveled this route. The scenery was unbelievable, our lunch stop was in such a beautiful valley.
Rather short today so I hope the pictures make up for lack of writing. It seems bouncing on the dirt road has made me really tired and we have na early wake up as………..
I WANT TO GO TO KATHMANDU, IT”S WHAT I REALLY REALLY WANT TO DO. :)
