MAN O MAN I LOVE TO TRAVEL....... what will i see that is new, what new experiences await, what new friendships will be foraged, what new sights will stir my wanderlust even more.
Off to Denver!!!!
The day has arrived for us to Kick the Tires and Light the Fires. Two days before we leave, our Malamute Taiya decides to tear the puppy equivalent of the human ACL. After taking her to Colorado State University Vet School. We learned she would need surgery and the surgery could wait till our return. PHEW!!!! Taiya was ready to go to Puppy Camp and ran to the Jeep ready to go. We do like it that she enjoys the kennel. It makes easier on us mentally to leave her when she pulls us into the kennel as she howls away.
After dropping Taiya off at Puppy Camp, we loaded the car and headed to Denver. As we left a bit early we went to the Denver Zoo. It was a pinch hot and the critters were not very active and I do not blame them. Spent some time playing with the camera and adjusting the camera bag I decided to take on this trip. Traveling light I decided to use a Lowe Pro fanny pack. I am able to carry one camera with a 28-105MM lens and a 70-300MM lens, rain hood, batteries and charger, cleaning stuff and a few misc other things. The bag carried well and will work great with a light back pack which will carry water, clothes etc etc etc for a day out photoing Le Tour. Here are a few pics taken at the Zoo.
After we left the zoo we drove to our hotel near the airport as we have a 0400 wake up call. The best place for for a meal near Denver Airport is The Moonlight Diner. It’s all good and happy hour 2 for 1. Angry Orchard was most refreshing. I had the Meatloaf sandwich and Lynn had a chicken quesadilla. A very satisfying meal at a location filled with nostalgia. Really a great place. Lots of great music when music was music. Chuck Berry, The Beatles, Martin Denny, Cream, etc ect etc .
I do hope we sleep well tonight as tomorrow will be a very long day of travel. The tomorrow evening we will be attending the Monty Python Show. Reviews have been very positive.
Our flights tomorrow take us from DEN to IAH (Houston) and the on to London Heathrow. We have been fortunate to get the upgrade to Business First on that leg and last time I checked we were #1 and #2 for the long haul to Heathrow. Fingers are crossed for a lie-down seats.
Time to try and sleep.
Can't wait to hear all about your travels. Hope tomorrow goes well.
