Pre Disneyland Trip -
After returning from Europe we have had almost a month at home. Our Malamute pup, Taiya, decided she needed TPLO ( puppy equivalent to human ACL) surgery. This has involved keeping her very quiet and doing puppy PT. So, in that respect, it was good we had nothing planned. I ended up having jury duty for a 3 day DUI trial. I was the alternate and did not get to deliberate. We also worked the Primary election. Our fruit trees started to produce the cherries , so they were processed into jam and pie filling. At our Famers Market we got a bushel of peaches which have been canned as butter and Lynn wants to make some jam. I was also busy turning wood for presents and tips for future trips.
But enough of that, we are 99% packed and ready for a trip to Disneyland. As we are staying at Disney’s Grand California Villas in a one bedroom unit, we will have a kitchen and we do a good bit of meal preparation. We will not have a rental car so a trip to a grocery store is not practical. So a good bit of our suitcases are packed with food and SPAM. Other than food, we are packing light as the weather will be warm and it is forecast to be dry.
Looking forward to seeing friends from near and far. Visiting Trader Sam’s and doing the Adventureland Trading Company Juju quest are on the must do list. Will be reporting on them for sure.
After this Disneyland trip, our fall is pretty darn full with travel to many parts of the globe.
We have had additional pages added to our passports so we are ready to get going to places.
October takes us to Tokyo and to Chicago to ride the City of New Orleans to ... well, New Orleans. Need to sit on those 25 sacks of mail and have a drink in the club car.
November finds us at Walt Disney World (AKL) for Food and Wine, last weekend so we will get to see Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge (AKL) Kidani, so will bring our night vision and binoculars for critter watching. We do enjoy chatting with the cultural cast members from various parts of Africa. I know, not the best location for Food and Wine, but we like AKL.
December off to the Galapagos with National Geographic. I can not speak highly enough about Nat Geo and the quality of their trips. One gets a great in depth experience with amazingly qualified guides and speakers.
January is a quick trip to WDW for a wedding. Need to figure out a place to spend New Years Eve, if I can stay awake.
February is a WDW/ DCL/ DL trip, to get the most out of our DVC points and our Premier passes.
We hope to get a Malamute puppy late February or March, and will spend some time at home getting the pup integrated into the family.
June finds us heading to the Arctic with Nat Geo in a quest for the great white bear , visiting Norway, Greenland, and Iceland.
Other trips in the works are the Amazon and maybe a return to Alaska via ferry with bicycles. but one never knows. Tibet would be nice, want to spend some time in Scotland and Isle of Man. So many places.
I am looking forward to sharing these adventures with one and all.
Next stop Main Street USA at Disneyland.
